I don't have a remarkable fix for that other than to suggest that the option key is linked only within Terminal.app you could always use it normally on other applications and copy/paste in. Not sure how often you use those characters. It has actually never come up for me.

Thanks for this tip. There is, however, another challenge: while I'm content having the option key working as "alt" key, how do I get special characters like @, £ or ~? Whenever I would need the option key, it doesn't work properly since it is mapped to function as an alt key. ;/

Dave,
You are right. I was just sloppily throwing together an example. Yes, normally they are powers of two so that each bit represents an "allowed/denied" pair. Thus you can have all sorts of combinations without confusion. Good catch.

Maybe I'm missing the way C# handles it, but it certainly looks to me like your code would treat (Read | Execute) the same as Delete ( (0x4 | 0x1) = 0x5 ). Normally bitflags are powers of 2 to avoid such a thing.

<a href="#comment-5" rel="nofollow">@KonstantinMiller </a>
As I get more in depth into using ClickOnce as a method of releasing software to customer's I will gladly share in the future.

It is a temperamental but very useful tool.
